Caramel Corn

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 pound margarine
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 7-8 quarts popped popcorn
Directions

Boil sugar, margarine, syrup and salt to soft ball stage (from 234° to 238° on a candy thermometer). Add soda and stir well. Pour over popcorn. Bake in 200° oven for 1 hour, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.
