Popcorn Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • pinch of cream of tartar
  • dash of salt
  • 8 quarts popped popcorn
Directions

In heavy saucepan, mix the first 3 ingredients. Bring to a boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add last 3 ingredients.  Fold into popcorn with wooden spoons.

Shape into balls with hands and place on waxed paper. Wrap individually to preserve freshness.

Tip: It helps to run cold water over hands before shaping balls.
