Ingredients
- 3½ cups milk
- ¼ cup butter
- 2½ cups dried bread cubes (leftover French bread
works best)
- ½ Cup sugar
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- ½ cup sherry
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon mace
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup seedless raisins

Directions
Preheat oven to 375°.
Scald the milk, add the butter and pour hot
liquid over the bread cubes - soak about 5 minutes then add sugar, eggs, sherry
and spices. Add the raisins.
Pour mixture into buttered baking dish. Set the
dish in a pan of hot water and bake until knife inserted in the center comes
out clean, or one hour.
