Applesauce
Printer Friendly Version Email Recipe to Friend
Ingredients
  • 6 apples, peeled, cored, and quartered (use more than one kind when possible)
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

Combine apples with all other ingredients in a heavy pan. Place lid on pan, tilt lid open to allow steam to escape. Cook on low for 15 to 30 mins (depending on how chunky you like your apple sauce) stiring quite frequently.

Use a hand blender or potato masher, if needed, to blend to desired consistency. Serve warm, chilled or freeze and thaw later.

*For best results use fresh ingredients.
