Vineger Based Cole Slaw

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs green cabbage, shredded
  • 3 carrots, shredded
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 medium sweet onions, chopped

  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 4 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups cider vinegar
  • 1 cup salad oil
Directions

Mix the cabbage, carrots, pepper, sugar and sweet onions and set aside.

In a medium sauce pan combine the remaining items. Bring to a boil. Pour over vegetables and mix. Mixture will still be warm and this will set the flavors. Refrigerate.

Lasts up to a week and is great for picinics.
